7:00 pm Film Screening and Program - Wisdomkeepers, Paqo Andino - An eco-spiritual journey into the heart of consciousness

Wisdomkeepers, Paqo Andino is an inspirational, emotionally intimate film experience exploring the heart-centered, celestially guided lifeways of the Andean Holy Mountain Tradition, one of our planet’s last remaining uninterrupted wisdom lineages. Filmed entirely on location in the high mountains of Peru, this unprecedented motion picture takes those who experience it on a journey into the heart of an ancient earthkeeping culture to discover a way of life that is at once practical and mystical. It presents universally applicable insights into a state of being based on loving kindness, unconditional reciprocity, sustainability and the sanctity of daily life.

The experience is energetic, powerful, immensely moving and visually stunning.

This special evening program includes a post-screening discussion with filmmaker Jeffrey Wium, an initiated Altomisayoq in the Andean Holy Mountain Tradition.

Within each of us is a deep longing to fulfill the purpose of our lives. Blending music, movement and ancient Slavic rituals, Ladamira will lead participants in ceremony to help us connect to the elements that deepen our true nature, recover the ability to feel the joy of being, and rediscover harmony between ourselves and nature.

11:15 am Laura Alonzo de Franklin, Curandera "The Mexhika Medicine Wheel"

Maestra Laura explores the Medicine Wheel, or Sacred Hoop, used by various indigenous tribes for health and healing. It embodies the Four Sacred Directions, as well as Father Sky, Mother Earth and Spirit Heart – all of which symbolize dimensions of health and the cycles of life. In this interactive introduction to the walk around the Medicine Wheel, you will learn how to integrate the elements of food, body energy and the symbolic color of each direction into your daily life.

1:30 pm Kimba Arem, Sacred Sound Healing & Performance Artist, "Sound as Medicine"

Dedicated to educating and assisting the planet in gentle awakening through sacred sound, Kimba weaves various indigenous and classical instruments into healing sound therapy. Her main instrument is a quartz crystal didjeridu, as well as multi-chambered Native American flutes, four-chambered Celtic flute, Tibetan and crystal bowls, tingshas, tuning forks, harp, Aboriginal bullroarer, various percussion instruments, and healing therapeutic mantras from various cultures.

3:00 pm Jeffrey Wium, Celestial Paqo, Andean Holy Mountain Tradition

This session provides participants with personal and collective knowledge about the realms of universal awakening based on ancient heart wisdom. Jeffrey will offer practical information about living beyond the constraints of separation and identification, as well as facilitate guided meditations to reconnect to energetic/etheric aspects of our inherent reality that have been forgotten through standard western upbringing. This material provides people from all walks of life and spiritual traditions with an overview of how to empower the soul’s journey by using personal experience as a basis for awakening.

6:00 pm Maile Ngema Lama, Nepalese Healer & Elder "Traditional Chinta Ceremony" (Bugaboo Ballroom - 3rd Floor)

Maile Lama will perform a traditional Nepalese evening ceremony called a “Chinta.” Often done for a special purpose such as blessing a house or a piece of land, or for healing someone of a serious illness, or blessing a large group, it is a powerful ceremony of drumming, singing, shaking, calling in the spirits and making offerings, seldom seen outside of Nepal.

9:00 am Suzy Balliett (Kun Dao), Daoist Priestess & Shamana "The Alchemy of Dao"

Daoists are trained in inner visualization techniques to harmonize the spirit/orbs of light that live in our inner organs. Through this sacred space meditation, you will experience the body as sacred geometry and the magical cultivation of five activities of Qi resonating from internal/external sources.

10:00 am Oona Soleil, Scottish/Druid Shaman "Presence - Life as a Ceremony"

Our presence is a gift we give ourselves and others. Being present creates the space for living life as a ceremony. Every moment of your life becomes a moment of celebration. Our beauty and our power lies in being fully present with our mind, our emotions and our body. We will look at some extreme ways of achieving this powerful presence.

When our mind is cleared of its limiting beliefs and constant chatter we can be present in the moment. By clearing our spirit from suppressed emotions and attachments we become free to be spiritually present. By becoming aware of our physical presence we can stand powerfully within our body.

Practical exercises and demonstrations including walking on shards of glass will be part of the presentation. By weaving our mental, emotional and physical presence together our life becomes a ceremony in itself.

12:30 pm Kitty Edwards "Death Rites: Crossing the Rainbow Bridge"

To live life fully, we must learn to die. Death rites, practiced by indigenous cultures throughout the world, help us confront our own deaths fearlessly. In this experiential session, we will engage the death rites of the Iban of Borneo, the Cherokee of North America and the Q’ero from the high Andes Mountains.

2:15 pm Edie Stone "Spirit Guides in the Office: Bridging Shamanism and Psychotherapy"

We will explore brain-wave research, how Spirit Guides and shamanic practices enhance psychotherapy, and the need to establish a safe space before working with trauma or soul-retrieval. We will also journey to a sacred inner landscape and connect with Mother Earth and healing energy.

3:45 pm Ellen Winner "Shamanism and the Path to Englightement"

Learn a spirit journey to find and form a relationship with your own Teacher of Enlightenment in in non-ordinary reality. Enlightenment is available to us now – not reserved as a reward for a life of privation, meditation, constant recitations of mantras, prostrations, offerings, faithful adherence to a guru, or lifetimes of past lessons.

As shamans we see no contradiction between a firm grounding here and now on earth and moving freely between ordinary and sacred states of consciousness. This is what we always do when we bring healing from compassionate spirits into our communities, and what we must do now to bring unity consciousness to our people. (Please note this subject matter is not part of the curriculum of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies.)

4:45 pm Naya Devi - Traditional Andean Ayni Despacho Ceremony

In the indigenous cultures of Peru and the High Andes, a Despacho Ceremony is an ancient, sacred practice of offering prayers to the mountains, the heavens, Mother Earth and the spirits of nature in reciprocity, right relationship and gratitude.

Literally meaning “to gift,” a despacho is a symbolic offering of love or gratitude, and serves to remind us of the connections we share with all beings, spirits, plants, and places. It uses symbolic natural elements such as seeds, flowers, shells and candies to build a colorful and sweet prayer bundle that carries our prayers back to the earth and up to the heavens.

To close out this year's Conference, participants will take part in building a traditional Ayni Despacho, for celebrating balance, harmony and right relationship.
